Transforming Learning: Understanding the Needs of English Learners and Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE)
This presentation explores the importance of knowing who our English learners are, their educational backgrounds, their history and life experiences and how scaffolded lessons can support academic language learning for proficiency and success. Bilingual seals and the college semester credits awarded to students who earn them recognize the home languages of English learners as the asset they are. Information about seals and how students can earn them will be provided in this session.
